Mantid: Melicertus religiosa

At long last! The mantid has a name: Melicertus religiosa. I can't take credit however, My friend KT who actually speaks latin named it for me. :) Melicertus is the genus of "king prawns," and religiosa is pretty self-explanatory. Here he is in all his glory! (And it's specifically a he because females don't have external wings.)

Here are some designs for the mantid/mantis shrimp creature, the apex predator and probably the most important creature in the dome. (Excepting perhaps the humans).
